Welcome to the EMAG 2027 Villach webpage!
From July 28th to August 1st, Mensans from Europe and beyond are meeting in the charming little town of Villach, Austria.
Situated in the federal state of Carinthia, the land of 1000 lakes, it lies very close to both Italy and Slovenia.
Carinthia is famous for swimming and watersports in summer, as well as for its history, culture and cuisine. Activities will also take place in both neighbouring countries.
We are looking forward to welcoming you in Austria!

The Venue
EMAG2027 will take place at the Congress Center Villach: villach.at/ccv
A very nice Location which perfectly fulfils our requirements.
In the heart of the city, it is located at the banks of “Drau” river, within walking distance from old town/city center and also walking distance from the central station.
Accomodation
We shall soon be releasing information on where you can book hotels.
A sufficient amount of rooms is blocked for us.
Events
A plentitude of events is prepared for you and we are working on more.
Zoos, museums, water-sports (hey, it’s going to be summer), dining, yoga, motor-biking etc. will keep you busy during the day. A large variety of restaurants and bars will be glad to welcome you during the evenings.
Plus: a 24 hour room will be available for those who can cope with little or no sleep.
Cross border activities with Ms in Slovenia and Italy are also planned.

Lectures
Even though we do have a plentitude of people who came up to us – in Podgorica already – there is room for more. If you have a subject you believe other Mensans will be interested in please let us know by telling us about the lecture here:
Please note lectures should not take longer than one hour.
Travelling to Villach
Train
We recommend to travel by train. Villach is a major hub for Austrian and international trains.
Train services arrive from Munich/Germany and beyond, Vienna/Austria, Ljubljana/Slovenia and Venice/Italy.
Plane
Closest airport is Klagenfurt, however it has very limited destinations.
Ljubljana is perhaps the best option as it is only an hour away by car.
If interest is high enough, we shall arrange for shuttle service.
Venice might be an option as well to fly in yet travelling by train will take longer.
Climate
Villach is located in the south of Austria. Temperatures above 30 degrees are to be expected in July and August. So bring your sun-shades and sunscreen as well as your swimming gear.
And as you never know during Austrian summers: a rain jacket or umbrella is recommended.
